It can be hard to identify young people who are at risk of sexual exploitation.
Vulnerable young women are often exploited by family members, or by much older men and get involved in the informal exchange of sex for money, drugs or accommodation. But new research out suggests that only half of those young people likely to be at risk in the London area are currently being identified.
To what extent are we failing to protect young people who are vulnerable to sexual exploitation, and once they are caught up in the vicious cycle how can they break away?
