Music is very much in Janine Jansen's blood. Her grandfather was a choral conductor, her father is the organist of Utrecht Cathedral and her mother is a singer.
Despite being only 27, Janine Jansen, the widely acclaimed Dutch violin soloist, has already been dazzling audiences and impressing critics for years. On Friday she will be performing one of the cornerstones of the classical repertoire, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, at the First Night of the Proms, which will be televised on BBC1 for the first time.
Jenni will be talking to her about her meteoric rise.
