Forgotten American composer
From experimental to folk, the American composer Ruth Crawford Seeger embraced all sorts of music in her works. She was the first woman to receive a Guggenheim Fellowship in composition and her step children Pete and Peggy Seeger had their own successful careers in folk music.
Diana Ambache, pianist and musical director with the Ambache Chamber Orchestra tells Claudia Hammond why Ruth Crawford Seeger's work was so innovative.
