What's it really like to be a Chinese woman?
Her first novel Shanghai Baby was banned and publicly burned in China five years ago. The Chinese authority said the book was too decadent for young people to read. The question is, how much does her work reflect real Chinese women's lives?
Dr Sally Sargeson (Nottingham University) will join Wei Hui and Jenni to discuss how Chinese women’s lives have changed over the last two decades since China started opening-up to the world.
