How coastal erosion is effecting one Yorkshire small-holding
Coastal erosion has always been a problem for the east of England, but in recent years some areas have seen dramatic changes to the shape of the North Sea coastline.
One of the worst effected areas for land erosion is East Yorkshire, which has in the last five years lost amongst other buildings a hotel. Some villages and towns have been protected by sea defences, but these and off-shore gravel extraction have been blamed for the worsening conditions.
Small holder Lyz Turner who lives a few miles south of Withernsea is one of many who regularly sees her land claimed by the sea, Jill Hopkin walks with her as she gauges the sea's progress to her farm buildings.
