Lida Cardozo Kindersely on the art of cutting letters in stone
A passion for stone and the art of letters has led Lida Cardozo Kindersely to carry on her late husband's work as a letter cutter in Cambridge.
There, the David Kindersley workshop coaches apprentices in the intricacies of alphabet inscription, before allowing them to work on more high profile projects. Some of their best known carved inscription are outside the British Library and the new Noon Marker at the London Stock Exchange.
Catherine Carr joined Lida at the workshop during the team's afternoon tea break.
