The on-going debate

Last month the government announced it would review its decision to declassify cannabis from a class B to a class C drug, a dramatic u-turn prompted by growing evidence that cannabis can cause serious mental illness.

But contrasting with the tales of teenagers whose suicides are linked to cannabis use are the stories of pot smoking mums and unrepentant ‘cannabis grannies’ sharing the drug with friends and neighbours.

Jenni is joined by Dr Zerrin Atakan, Marjorie Wallace and Hope Humphreys.
