Catherine Bott11 April 2005
The Soprano Catherine Bott has long been acknowledged as a virtuoso of early vocal music and she performs two pieces from her forthcoming recital at the London Handel Festival

She’ll also be speaking to Jenni about her career and how she juggles her love of early music with a more contemporary repertoire, her interest in the way that “wronged women” such as Mary Queen of Scotts and Lucretia are portrayed in baroque music, and describing her job share with Joanna Lumley as the singing voice of Ermintrude the Cow in the new Magic Roundabout film.

Perforing on Friday Night is Music Night on BBC Radio 2 on Friday 15 April

Catherine's recital Wronged Women and Cruel Nymphs is on Tuesday 12 April at 7 p.m, St. George's Church, Hanover square, London W1.

London Handel Festival 2005 on from 13 March - 15 May
