Sheila Fell02 April 2005

Artist who died tragically young 25 years ago at the peak of her career

In an interview published the day after her death she said: "I want to live till I'm 104. I've promised myself I will. It's what keeps me going when I worry if I'll ever have enough time to do all the paintings in my head."

Now the first retrospective for 15 years is being staged in her native Cumbria.
