The singer muses on her new band and performs live

Kristin Hersh formed the Throwing Muses in the 1980s. Part of the 4AD record label along with bands such as The Pixies, The Cocteau Twins and The Breeders, the band never received huge chart success but the legacy of the band lives on and has had a lasting effect on the music scene today.

In 2003, after creating her brand-new band 50 Foot Wave, she created her own record company ThrowingMusic and in 2004 the group released a 6-song mini album, which earned the band much critical notice.

And now they are releasing Golden Ocean, their full-length debut.

Kristin performs live and speaks to Jenni about her life, the trials of touring with her family in tow and where she finds her musical inspiration today.

Golden Ocean by 50 Foot Wave is available on ThrowingMusic.
