Support for parents18 March 2005
What's it like to raise a small child with a learning disability?

Last month Maria Hutchings, mother of an autistic ten-year-old, confronted Tony Blair during a Channel 5 appearance, and was then publicly comforted by Michael Howard.

As new research shows, information, support, and services for families of these children can be sporadic, and varies to a large extent around the country.

Martha will be talking to Jill Davies, author of a new information booklet designed to help families receive local support, and the mother of a young son with a learning disability.
