Baroness Boothroyd27 January 2005
her hunt for missing WWII heroines

This summer the Queen will unveil the first national memorial dedicated to all the women, not just service women, who played a role during the Second World War.

There is a small, surviving band of women who were decorated for bravery during the war, whose whereabouts are unknown.

Baroness Betty Boothroyd, who campaigned to have a monument built, tells Jenni about the 'Hunt for Heroines' appeal which aims to trace the women.

If you think you can help trace the women, please call The Memorial to Women in World War II Fund on 020 7430 0443.
