Barbara Windsor11 January 2005
Barbara Windsor as Peggy in BBC One's EastEnders
on her illness and return to fitness

At 67-years-old Barbara Windsor is a cultural icon with a life story that reads like a soap opera.

From slapstick Carry On sex-kitten to hard-nosed landlady of the Queen Vic, she remains one of the nation's favourites. She's known to millions as the cheerful Cockney whose infectious laugh helped make her a household name.

She talks to Jenni about her recovery from the debilitating Epstein-Barr virus and the role that her young husband took in helping her back on her feet, and how she felt inspired to make her own fitness video for older women.
