Taking on the doctors' role
Within the NHS there's been a drive for nurses to learn skills traditionally associated with doctors, and vice versa.
In the latest project, the first epidurals are being given in Europe by health professionals who are not doctors.
Claudia Hammond went to Nottingham City Hospital to see how the experiment is working.
