Women and the DUP29 November 2004
becoming a political presence

The Democratic Unionist Party, led by the Reverend Ian Paisley, is now the largest party in Northern Ireland having overtaken David Trimble's Ulster Unionists. As the DUP enjoys popularity at the polls, the women who supported the party throughout the Troubles and the peace process that followed, are making their presence felt as politicians in their own right.

Dianne Dodds, who is married to the MP Nigel Dodds has supported her husband for years, running his constituency office, but now she is moving into the limelight. Barbara Collins reports from Belfast.
