Veronica Mulcahy1 October 2004
On her humorous handbook for those with breast cancer

A few months ago, former breast cancer sufferer Veronica Mulcahy would sit with her back against a wall when she went out for a meal with friends. Not a strange compulsion, but a way of avoiding having her wig accidentally pulled off by somebody's coat button.

It was just one of the experiences she thought other women in the same situation would want to know about. So she wrote a handbook for the one in nine women who develop breast cancer at some point in their lifetime.

On the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Veronica Mulcahy joins Martha to talk about Bosom Buddy.

Copies of Bosom Buddy are available from:

The Macmillan Breast Care Nurse
The Conquest Hospital
St. Leonards-on-Sea
East Sussex TN37 7RD

The price is £1.99 plus 42p postage and packing. Cheques should be made payable to East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust
