Donkeys2 September 2004
Why are they so popular with women?

Women it seems have a particular soft spot for the donkey. In fact, most donkey breeders are female. There's been a general revival in the donkey's popularity thanks to the wise-cracking sidekick of the gentle giant Shrek, in the Hollywood film. Donkeys are also taking pride of place at 60 animal shows across the country.

Angela Robson meets Rosemary Clark, Secretary of the Donkey Breed Society and sees the crowning of the Supreme Champion Donkey.
