Alice In Wonderland2 September 2004
Is it too girly?

The American author Frank Beddor has rewritten one of Britain's classic children's stories, accusing the original of being 'too girly'. The Looking Glass Wars is set in a land of strife, where the evil Queen Redd has murdered her sister to take the throne.

But is the original Alice in Wonderland really a book just for girls? And what labels a book 'girly' in the first place?

Frank and Jenni discuss.

Frank Beddor's The Looking Glass Wars is available from Egmont Books, ISBN 1405209879 from 6 September
