Why it's always had feminine associations

A new survey shows that although other technologies have been adopted more quickly by men, trends in mobile phone usage are driven by women. 

The industry has been a major employer of women from the old telephone exchanges to today's burgeoning call centres. Wherever the location it's estimated that on average 70% of people working in call centres are women. So what's it like being at the end of a phone all day?
