Why some maternity units are 'impoverished'

A report published this morning into a maternity unit in the Midlands has condemned what it describes as "impoverished" conditions for patients.

The unit, at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton, was investigated by the Healthcare Commission after the deaths of three babies in their care last year.

But the commission also says there are similar problems among deprived communities countrywide. Jenni talks to Christine Braithwaite from the Healthcare Commission.
