A little known pelvic condition suffered by pregnant women
Symphysis pubis dysfunction, or SPD, is caused by the loosening up of the pelvis to prepare for birth. It's an agonising condition that at its mildest makes movement difficult, but at its most severe, has led to some women having to use a wheelchair for months after the birth of their child.
