Do babies and small children need development checks?
A Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) report has recommended dropping screening tests for infants at 8 months, 2 years and 3 ½ years. Instead there will be a core screening programme with extra support for children in deprived areas. But will this new service lead to children with problems, going undetected?
