How working as a bar hostess helped her write her new novel on the Tokyo underworld

Crime writer Mo Hayder's latest novel is set in the Tokyo underworld and the China of the late 1930s, drawing on the true story of the Nanking massacre in 1937 in which 300,000 Chinese civilians were slaughtered by the Japanese Imperial Army.

Mo joins Jenni to talk about her new thriller and why her own experiences working as a hostess in a club in Tokyo proved so useful.

Tokyo by Mo Hayder is published by Bantam Pres ISBN 0593049691
