What is the legacy of the woman branded the 'English Marilyn Monroe'?

Today is the 20th anniversary of the death Diana Dors. She was the most sexual of British actresses in the post-war years, with a flair for self-publicity and a stormy private life.

By the early seventies she had switched largely to televised roles, often appearing in variety and quiz shows. When she died in 1984, there was a sense that the British entertainment world had lost an institution.

Jenni Murray discusses Diana Dors’ life and legacy with Josephine Botting of the British Film Institute.
