Caesarean births30 Apr 2004
Listen to your views and reactions.

20% of women in Britain now give birth by caesarean section. This week the National Institute for Clinical Excellence publish new guidelines in an attempt to reduce the rate of births by caesarean. Birth pioneer Michel Odent is famed for water births and his new book predicts that the caesarean augurs long term societal problems. Dr Pam Loughna, consultant obstetrician at City Hospital, Nottingham is sceptical about his fears.
