The author's autobiography has been made into a musical.

Forrester was pulled out of school at the age of 11 to look after her younger brothers and sisters. But her lack of education did not stand in the way of her becoming a best selling author.

Now after a thirty year career, her most well-known book, the autobiographical, Two Pence to Cross the Mersey, has been made into a musical.

Two Pence to Cross the Mersey, Liverpool Empire Theatre until 24 April
