Shifting family loyalties23 Mar 2004
Everyone is involved in at least one family, the one we came from. But many of us will go on to create another family, or join another family in some way.

How do we deal with the conflicting loyalties these other ties create? Who comes first, your partner or your sister, your mother or your step-mother, your children or your partner?

With more children living in step families and more grandparents still alive to see extended families, novelist Clare Calman and agony aunt Suzy Hayman join Jenni to discuss how to deal with conflicting familial interests.
