Mimi KhalvaniSaturday 31 January 2004
Mimi Khalvani was born in Iran and lived there until she was six. Then she was sent to boarding school on the Isle of Wight though she couldn't speak a word of English.

Despite that, she's grown up to be a successful poet here, celebrated at the Victoria and Albert museum in London this week at an Iranian evening.
Mimi tells Martha about her childhood and her arrival in Shanklin at the age of six from Tehran?
