Death Valley Opera HouseWednesday 21 January 2004
The Amargosa Opera House, Death Valley
At one of the most inhospitable parts of the world, Death Valley Junction, is a Concert Hall owned by a 79 year old woman. New Yorker dancer Marta Becket bought the theatre 35 years ago and has staged her own plays there ever since.

Although there's always been plenty of traffic passing through to see Death Valley, little of it stopped at the one inhabited building on the junction. But Marta has slowly built up a reputation and now regularly performs to a full house.
