Cruel AdvertisingThursday 23 October 2003
Holsten Pils' latest billboard advertisement campaign shows a young woman with a very bad overbite and the caption 'it's what's inside that counts' has attracted criticism.

Trainee child psychotherapist Alex Payne complained about the ad to the ASA and also wrote an article in Times2 about how it reminded her of the cruelties she faced as a child.
Is the advert challenging conventional ideas of beauty or encouraging men to laugh at 'ugly' women?
Alex Payne, Beth Barry, a Director at the brand design consultancy Coley Porter Bell and Winston Fletcher, Director of Ad agency, Delaney Lund Knox Warren join Jenni to discuss these issues.
