Most people probably think of surfing as a summer sport, but come autumn there's more of a swell and the real die-hards get their wet suits on and take to the waves.
Figures from the British Surfing association show that up to forty percent of new surfers are women- there are magazines for women surfers, cool clothes, even designers like Prada and Chanel have muscled in on the surfing market. Now a new women only surf school, based in Newquay, has started teaching women how to hit the waves. Fiona Clampin reports. Women surfers are in action 8 November in Croyde and 9 November in Lynmouth in the last of the Pro Surf Tour events
