The Wedding Dress
What did you wear on your wedding day? What the bride wears is the focal point of any wedding day. And now it's the focus of three exhibitions around the country and a National Trust book, Marriage a la Mode, about changing fashions in wedding dresses over 300 years.

Clare Jenkins, who wore an embroidered suit for her wedding, has been to two of the exhibitions, at the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle and Cartwright Hall Art Gallery in Bradford.
'Marriage a la Mode' is published by the National Trust
'The Happy Couple' exhibition is on at the Cartwright Hall Art Gallery in Bradford until 14 September. 'Wedding Belles' is on at the Bowes Museum in Durham until May 2004.
