Bradford Mela Festival Woman's Hour is live from the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford - as part of the city's festival and on the eve of the Mela celebration of Asian culture.

In this most ethnically diverse of cities, we'll be asking how important is the language you speak at home? Yasmin Ali, sociology lecturer from the University of Central Lancashire, poet Roshan Doug and Nashat Ali from the Islamic Society join Jenni to discuss.
Also the machismo of spice - as chefs Manju Malhi, author of Brit-spice and Hansa Dabhi who runs an all female Gujerati restaurant in Leeds introduce us to the baked bean balti, the ultimate blend of cultures.
And Muslim comedian Shazia Mirza talks to Jenni about her how her controversial style has gone down in post 9-11 America.
