If you want to "say it with flowers" there is no doubt that a big bunch of red roses says Love!

However, according to author and lecturer Justine Hopkins, in the third of our series of flowers in art, roses have had some very different meanings in the past.
Claudia Hammond asks Justine to explain what other feelings these particular flowers were used to convey.
