Patience Tomlinson on Mary MannSaturday 15 March 2003
The novels of Mary Mann, set in Victorian Norfolk, paint a bleak picture of appalling poverty laced with grim humour. Her work, nearly forty novels and books of stories, remained undiscovered until fairly recently.

Mary Mann is the subject of a one woman show at the Festival of Norfolk Inspired Drama in Norwich, created and acted by Patience Tomlinson.
Patience Tomlinson and Eve Stebbing, the organiser of the event and who also runs Spin-Off Theatre join Martha to talk about this production.
The Festival of Norfolk Inspired Drama runs in Norwich from 16 March until 23 March. Box Office: 01603 611 412. Patience Tomlinson's show about Mary Mann is called 'A Tale That Is Told'.
