Joan ArmatradingTuesday 4 March 2003
Joan is one of the few female artists ever to have been made MBE, and she has twice been invited to perform for Nelson Mandela - a figure close to her heart. Joan has come a long way since her childhood in Birmingham and the West Indies and has just released a new album Lovers Speak - her first in eight years.

Joan Armatrading joins Jenni to talk about the defining moments of her musical career and how her latest music finally reflects the real Joan.
Joan will be performing at GL1's Glevum Concert Hall, Gloucestershire, Friday 2 May 2003 - part of Joan's UK Tour. She will perform songs from 'Lovers Speak' which will be released 10 March 2003 on Telstar.
