Suicide in PrisonFriday 7 March 2003
Suicide in women's prisons is at the highest level ever recorded and many of those taking their own lives are women in their early twenties or younger, often with a history of mental illness.

So why has the problem now become so acute and what can be done to protect these vulnerable women?
Phil Wheatley, Director General of the Prison Service and Frances Crook, Director of the Howard League for Penal Reform join Martha to discuss.
