: It's a year since a decade of civil war in Sierra Leone came to an end, a conflict marked by appallingly high levels of atrocity, cruelty and sadistic behaviour.
It is believed five to seven thousand children were abducted by rebels and forcibly conscripted. Boys became soldiers -- Girls had the choice of soldier or 'wife' - a dubious title leading them to gang rape and other humiliations. Tomorrow we hear from Dr Bailah Leigh, a doctor in Sierra Leone, about how these children are being reabsorbed into the community and how the long-term psychological effects of such abuse must be addressed.
