Karline SmithThursday 16 January 2003
Novelist Katline Smith
Karline Smith is a novelist from Manchester whose latest book Full Crew is about life among the gangsters of the inner city.

Karline's one of the only black women writers dealing with this sort of stuff in her fiction. Based on her own experiences (she was brought up in Moss Side) most of the instances in the book are based on real life.
Karline joins Jenni to tell how she manages to spin a good yarn without glorifying the gangs that are so painfully wrecking families and ruining communities.
