Medieval MusicMonday 16 December 2002
The English invented the Christmas Carol in the 14th century - the best known is the Coventry Carol, but generally speaking these old songs which led to such a powerful tradition have been forgotten.

Third Voice consists of three musicians who specialize in medieval music. Ariane Prussner sings and plays harp and drum - Arngier Haullsson plays gittern and lute and Clare Norburn is the soprano. They have researched and recreated a collection of works from this period, A Medieval Christmas, with which they are now touring.
Third Voice play a selection live in studio and Clare Norburn joins Jenni to talk about how they became interested in medieval music.
'A Medieval Christmas' Concert Dates: Tuesday 17.12.02, 1:00 pm at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London - and it's Free! Wednesday 18.12.02, 7:30 pm at the Lord Leycester Hospital, Warwick.
