The importance of routine check-ups and self-examination to spot early signs of breast cancer in women is well known. What is less well known is that this is a disease which affects men too.
There are approximately 200 to 300 men diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. Now for the first time a leading breast cancer charity is funding research into the experience of the disease in men. Breast cancer is often perceived to be a woman's problem and ignored in men until it is too late. Jenni talks to Mike Down, a male breast cancer patient, and to Pamela Goldberg, the Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Campaign.
