Emma SmithTuesday 24 September 2002
Emma Smith was a young woman in her early twenties when she wrote her novel, The Far Cry in the 1940's.

The book, which is based around her experiences in India, was acclaimed at the time, but then faded into obscurity. Now it's been republished.
Emma Smith joins Jenni to talk about what it's like to return to the literary lime light fifty years on.
The Far Cry by Emma Smith is only available through the publisher Persephone Books Ltd, Tel. 020 7242 9292
