Earlier this year we celebrated Cosmopolitan's 30th birthday.
But Cosmo shares its launch year with a very different style of magazine in the United States. Like Cosmo it covered formerly taboo topics such as abortion, sexual harassment and masturbation but unlike Cosmo it was unashamedly political and radically feminist. Jennifer Chevalier has been speaking to some of the women who worked on Ms in the early days, starting with its founder, Gloria Steinem.
