The Lost GirlsFriday 5 July 2002
Ten years ago, the world watched in amazement, as thousands of famished children, staggered out of Sudan, and into Kenya. 'The Lost Boys', as they became known, had undertaken an epic march, fleeing war and famine.

But while the boys made the headlines, and were later re-settled in America, nothing was heard of the girls who made the same grueling journey. Only now, is their plight becoming evident. Human rights activists say the girls too should be resettled - not to do so, would be gross injustice.
Ishbel Matheson goes to Kakuma refugee camp in Northern Kenya, in search of the Lost Girls.
