Jubilee 2Tuesday 28 May 2002
Princess Margaret was a star, Diana an icon, The Queen Mother a national treasure, but how do we feel about the Queen herself? Have we admired her fortitude, resented her reserve? Has she been a role model? Have we empathised with her as a wife and mother? Respected her as a leader?

Fifty years after she acceded to the throne as a young princess Elizabeth, Woman's Hour looks at how the Queen has affected us, her female subjects.
In the second of our series Yasmin Alibhai Brown tells Woman's Hour about her relationship with HRH.
