Sporting Couples 2Friday 10 May 2002
There's just a couple of months now before the Commonwealth Games open in Manchester in July. It's a stressful time for many athletes as they emerge from winter training and start competing again.

A couple of week's ago Margot and Allan Wells told Philippa Budgen about the strain of having a relationship and working together on the track. Margot coached her husband to gold at the 1980 Olympics, but readily admits that it placed huge pressure on their marriage.
It's a pressure Commonwealth hopeful Shelley Drew knows only too well. Drew is Britain's top discus-thrower and is coached by her husband Lee Newman. Philippa Budgen went along to a training session.
