One of George W Bush's first acts when he took office last year was to ban foreign organisations who receive US government funding from promoting abortion.
Family planning organisations in Kenya are now saying that they are being forced to close clinics in slums after the cut in funding from the US. Its not just birth control services that are being lost, breast cancer screening and cervical smear tests will also go.
