Actress and director, Ida Lupino is probably one of the most prolific Hollywood directors of her time. She came from a British acting dynasty but emigrated to Hollywood in the 1930s.
The woman who once referred to herself as the poor man's Bette Davis is now the subject of a season at the National Film Theatre.
