After her success in Bhaji on the Beach, the comic actress joins Martha Kearney to discuss her new role in the film Bend it like Beckham.
She plays the mother of a girl who is obsessed with playing football, despite her best attempts to get her to concentrate on her studies and instruct her in the art of traditional cookery. Set in Hounslow, West London and Hamburg, the film follows two 28 year old girls with their hearts set on a future in professional football.
