Clara SanabrasFriday 8 March 2002
The lute is an instrument which enjoyed its heyday with the courtly players of the Renaissance and their songs of unrequited love.

Clara Sanabras is a lute player from Spain who has lived in this country since 1994. She tells Martha about famous lute players from the past, including one particular female lutenist who ended up as mistress of Charles II.
Clara Sanabras will be performing live at the Wigmore Hall on 14th March 2002 (Box Office No: 0207 935 2141)
Clara Sanabras The New Irish Girl and other Folksongs and ballads to the lute, Linn Records CKD 164
